Coverage of costs

In order to receive insurance benefits of the aqua med dive card, you are not required to inform aqua med beforehand. However, to always help you the best way we can and to ensure a full coverage of costs, we recommend calling our office or our hotline even in seemingly harmless or "easy" cases. If you are hospitalised or you cannot advance the medical costs, we can process the costs directly with the hospital.

 

Required documents

In order to ensure a quick check and processing of your case, please send us the following documents to assistance@medical-helpline.com:


To reimburse costs that incurred in a European foreign country, please first send the appropriate documents to your health insurance. This step is necessary due to the European Social Security Agreement. In many hospitals in Europe, you can settle the costs with your European insurance card, just as you are used to. In case your health insurance does not cover all costs, please send us the following documents:

  • the letter from your health insurance confirming the reimbursement of costs, including copies of invoices and receipts (in individual cases, we reservce the right to request original invoices per post)
  • receipts from the chemist's with the corresponding medical prescriptions
  • copy of medical reports (if possible)
  • documentation of travel duration (e.g. copy of plane tickets or the booking confirmation)
  • information about further insurances (e.g. automobile club membership, credit card, private insurance or eligibility to financial aid)
  • filled out accident report form (if requested by aqua med)

To reimburse costs that incurred in a non-European foreign country, please directly send the following documents to our office:

Do you have private health insurance?

If you have private health insurance, please first lodge your claim with them, since our cover is subsidiary. The private health insurance is the first liable instance.

Do you have a liability claim?

If you would like to lodge a liability claim (within the scope of the diver's personal liability insurance or the diving instructor's liability insurance), please contact our aqua med office immediately.
